Good News!

Today was the second weigh-in at church for me. Yea!! I've lost three pounds since last week! Even with the somewhat-indulgent July 4 Party last night.

Weight Watchers is going really well. I've modified a couple of recipes, which turned out well. We've found some yummy things for snacks that aren't too many points:
  • Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches (2)
  • 1 slice of Beefsteak Hearty Rye bread with Light Laughing Cow Cheese Wedge (2)
  • Light Baby Bell (1)
I'm sure we'll find more as we continue on this little journey. The kids haven't seemed to notice, so that's good! :-)

(Okay, that's not entirely true. The other night Pearl asked me why Daddy and I wanted to be skinny like "me and Macey." I explained that it's not about being skinny or fat, round or flat, but about being healthy and making healthy choices. She will occasionally ask me now how many points she's eating! Silly girl.)

Oh, for those keeping track:
When I first started this blog, I wanted to lose 35 pounds. With the move, I managed to add a few pounds, so when I started Weight Watchers, I guessed my weight about five pounds more than where I started. This was in part because I had knowingly gained a few pounds and also because weigh-ins at church would be clothed. No neked weigh-ins first thing in the morning are allowed there ... I know, weird, huh? :-) So, since I've started Weight Watchers (and the Biggest Loser Club at church), I've lost 4.6 pounds. Woo-hoo!

Oops

I'm enjoying the Weight Watchers plan, but don't think I'm eating quite enough during the day. Last night at work, I got a little dizzy. (I still had about 9 points to use when I left for work.) Need to work on spreading out my point consumption throughout the day.

Three Days in ..

Okay, so we've done three full days of Weight Watchers. I will admit, that yesterday, I did not eat all my points. I was close though, after a 4.5 point snack at 10:30 p.m. (I still had 6 to use.) I like the new Weight Watchers plan, as there are flex points. It provides more of a range for me anyway. If I go over a couple of points, which I did the first two days, then I just pull from my flex points for the week. Less guilt ... gotta love that! :-)

Our first weigh-in is at church today, so we'll see what the scale says. To be honest, I haven't been on a scale since we packed the one at the old house. While I have unpacked the one at the new house, I can't think that it has anything nice to say, so I've chosen not to speak to it.

Day 1

Okay, so the move is over (the unpacking is not), and as planned, we have started Weight Watchers. I started today, not sure if Gavin did. Here's what I can tell you ... I'm hungry! This morning was fine, but lunch was not satisfying, and now I want to snack, but I am trying to be good. On the upside, I have found a few low-point snacks: dried cherries and shredded wheat mini-bites. All said, two "full-size servings" of those is only 5 points, so it's not like I spent all my points on snacks!! :-)

Biggest Loser Club

So, our church is having a Biggest Loser Club this summer. Is that perfect timing or what? The first weigh-in is this weekend ... what a great gift to all the fathers out there ... make them get on a scale! I find it kind of funny. However, I'm guessing most of the guys probably don't care. I would just like to recommend to NEVER start a Biggest Loser Club on Mother's Day!!

Getting Excited

I've talked to a few more people who are losing weight with Weight Watchers, so I'm getting excited about it.

Not Working

I'm feeling a bit discouraged about the whole one-year goal ... at last check I was still up a few pounds, and the stress in my life is rather high. So, I'm probably going to take a break from blogging about this until we get moved. In the meantime, I am going to commit to drinking more water, less pop and exercising as much as possible, without sacrificing my "to do" list and taking care of my kids and me.

Last night, I went for a 30 minute walk with the Twins. It felt good, but told me I am not in great shape. I need to get it together.

I will probably also pack up the scale. I was actually feeling pretty good about how I was looking and how my clothes were fitting, but the scale was EVIL. So, I think I will pack up the scale until it has learned it's lesson and is no longer feeling evil.

Okay ... I might be back in the next few weeks, and I might not be. However, in July I think Husby and I are going to start Weight Watchers Online, and I will have to go for walks to learn my new neighborhood, so I'll be back then for sure!
